Alan McGee
PIP & Solicitor
Firm founder and lead advisor on all insolvency cases.
Alan McGee graduated with a BA Degree (Hons), LLB Degree (Hons) at National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG) before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2007. Alan holds a Law Society Diploma in Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring and a Law Society Diploma in Corporate Law and Governance as well as being an Accredited Mediator. Alan has been registered as Cork’s first Personal Insolvency Practitioner.
Alan specialises in Personal Insolvency Law and Bankruptcy Law.
Alan previously served as a Captain in the Defence Forces for 14 years gaining extensive overseas experience in Lebanon, East Timor and Liberia. His previous military experience and training adds a high level of organisation and management to caseloads which contributes to the efficiency and professionalism of the services provided by the firm. As a fully Accredited Mediator his overseas experience has given him invaluable experience in mediating difficult circumstances.
Vikki Peters
Partner & Solicitor
Specialising in Residential and Commercial Conveyancing. Personable, organised, and deeply client-focused
Vikki is a graduate of UCC with an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science and joined the firm in 2019. She also holds a Diploma in Commercial Property from the Law Society of Ireland.
Vikki advises on a broad range of property matters, with particular emphasis on residential and commercial conveyancing. Her practice includes acting for private clients and proprietors in the financing, acquisition, and sale of residential, commercial, site, and mixed‑use developments. Vikki also acts for clients in the acquisition, leasing, and sale of substantial commercial units, including hotels, public houses, and restaurants.
As part of a firm offering specialist Personal Insolvency services, Vikki has experience in Personal Insolvency matters before both the Circuit Court and High Court. Her practice further includes representing clients in Injuries Board applications and in Circuit and High Court personal injury litigation.
Deirdre McGee
Account & Application Manager
Maintenance of all legal client and office accounts within the firm and management of all Personal Insolvency pre-approval applications.
Deirdre holds a BA Honours Degree in Economics and Computers from UCC and has been with the firm since it was founded.
Deirdre works in the Personal Insolvency section dealing directly with clients in making their insolvency applications.
Prior to joining the firm Deirdre had her own business providing outsource services to Personal Insolvency Practitioners.
Deirdre has several years’ experience in all aspects of legal accounts and is responsible for the maintenance of all Clients and Office accounts within the firm.
Sinéad Whyte
Receptionist & Legal Secretary
Your first point of contact for all administrative matters.
Sineád joined the firm in 2017.
In addition to being our front desk Receptionist and greeting our clients, Sinead is the point of contact within the firm for all the administrative matters.
Sineád holds a Diploma in Human Resources from Griffith College and a certificate in conveyancing from Pitman Training Cork.
Michelle Newcombe
Arrangement Management
Oversees post-approval cases and long-term outcomes.
Michelle graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a Bachelor of Science in Management, specialising in Finance. She previously worked for some Multinational companies as a Business Lead in the financial sector.
Michelle joined the team in January 2018 and has brought her skills and knowledge of the financial services industry to the firm.
She is responsible for the maintenance of client accounts and the point of contact for all clients post court approval through to successful completion.
Siobhán Casey
Application Management
Responsible for Personal Insolvency clients during pre-court-approval stage.
Siobhán joined the firm in 2021 and is responsible for our Personal Insolvency clients during the pre-court-approval stage. Siobhán also manages all Mortgage to Rent applications, coordinating seamlessly with financial institutions, Approved Housing Bodies, and Housing Authorities to ensure a smooth and efficient process for clients.
Cian Boyle
Solicitor
Specialising in Assisted Decision-Making, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Private Client Services.
Cian graduated with an LLB Degree (Hons) from Maynooth University and an LLM Master of Business Law from University College Cork. Cian also holds a Law Society Diploma in Corporate Transactions
Cian specialises in applications under the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015, advising and assisting clients and their families in matters concerning capacity, decision-making supports and related Circuit Court applications. He also specialises in Enduring Powers of Attorney, helping clients plan for the future and safeguarding their wishes.
Cian also advises clients in relation to Wills and Succession planning and practises in the areas of Conveyancing and Litigation.
Rachel Mangan
Trainee Solicitor
Assisting clients across the firm’s broad range of general practice work.
Rachel is a Trainee Solicitor with Alan McGee & Co LLP, assisting clients across the firm’s broad range of general practice work. She holds BA Degree (Hons), LLB Degree (Hons) at National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG), and is currently completing her solicitor training. Rachel takes a professional, thorough and client-focused approach to her work and committed to developing legal expertise and providing a high standard of service.
