What Is Personal Insolvency?
Personal Insolvency is a legal process that helps individuals deal with unmanageable debt while protecting their home and dignity.
There are three main routes:
Personal Insolvency Arrangement (PIA)
For people with secured and unsecured debts (e.g. mortgage arrears, credit cards, loans).
Debt Settlement Arrangement (DSA)
For people with unsecured debts only (e.g. credit cards, personal loans).
Bankruptcy
For cases where insolvency arrangements aren’t suitable — we’ll guide you through it with care.
Get in touch and we’ll explain all your options clearly, based on your exact situation.
And please, don’t worry, we are very discreet, and we’re here to help.

We will engage with your creditors, and put forward a proposal. Creditors vote, and (if approved) it’s finalised in court.

Once the court approves of the proposal, we manage the arrangement from start to finish — for up to 6 years if needed.
Step 8: Solvency!
Once the arrangement is complete, you are back to being solvent and you can move forward unburdened.
The first step feels like the hardest.
We’ll make the rest easier.

Frequently Asked Questions
What will happen….
Will I lose my home?
It is very unlikely that you will lose your home. One benefit of a PIA or DSA is that you will not be asked to sell your home so most of our clients keep their family home.
You may be asked to release some equity from it if this is available and if you can find a lender willing to re-mortgage.
The one exception to this is if the costs of running your home greatly exceed expected costs and are far beyond your budget, in this case your PIP will look at whether it would make financial sense for you to move somewhere less expensive.
Will it be public?
We treat every case with strictest confidentiality. We will NEVER advertise or publicise any particulars of your case without your explicit consent and will endeavour to ensure that the entire process is as private as possible.
However, it is a public court processs, and as such, privacy cannot be guaranteed.
Will it ruin my credit rating?
If you are applying for a PIA/DSA your credit rating has already been affected. By completing a PIA/DSA you will begin the process of restoring your credit rating.
Will I be judged?
Never.
We helped hundreds of people with personal insolvency over the past decade. We’ve seen every situation imaginable. If there is one thing we could impart on you it’s that – There is no shame in asking for help!
